SMART ID introduces the New ZebraNet® Internal Wireless b/g Print Server

SMART ID, one of Zebra’s most important Business Partners, is pleased to introduce the new ZebraNet® b/g Wireless Print Server, available for the S4M™, ZM400™/ZM600™, Xi4™ series, RZ400™/RZ600™ and RXi4™ series printers and PAX4™ print engines, starting with August 1st.

The new equipment replaces the old ZebraNet Internal Wireless Plus print server, which was discontinued late 2010 in order to provide all the features and functionalities of the ZebraNet Internal Wireless Plus. In addition, ZebraNet® b/g wireless print server brings an improved radio range (300 meters open air, 150 meters indoors).

The multiple benefits of the New Internal Wireless b/g Print Server are:

• Has an internal, factory-installed print server so SMART ID customers don’t have to buy and install a separate, third-party radio card – tabletop printers connect to 802.11b/g networks right out of the box. (Also available as a field-installable kit) Internal integration also protects the radio card from theft.

• Provides support for current advanced wireless security protocols, including WPA2 security.

• Tethered antenna option with magnetic mount which optimises wireless reception and gives customers more flexibility regarding where printers can be placed – adding to the convenience wireless printing provides.

MOBILITY MULTITASKING – mobility applications for employees working in the production industry

In less than three years the “M” generation, of mobile employees, will consider desktops as part of a very old technology. Quick access to business information counts whenever productivity, efficiency, innovations are the main performance metrics. As corporate information quantity doubles every four years and digital content every 1,8 years as well, the new generations’ expectations reflect in how fast the latest international mobile techonogies are being adopted.

With over 4 billion mobile equipment interconnected worldwide, it’s hard to imagine how the companies for which mobility is not a priority will look in a few years. Employees are already expecting to access the most important business applications and information exactly where and when they need them. And if the speed of information processing is important for employees, maybe it would be fair to ask ourselves: who will accept to work for those companies anymore?

For innovative companies, the need for fast return on investment, an excelent employee productivity level, the need to interact with customers as easily and productively as possible, the ability to attract the greatest talents from universities, the increasing importance given to mobile employees and information processed with the aid of mobile applications – these are the main drivers for companies to adopt mobility applications.
